Reduction of elevated values of mixed hyperlipidemias. (Cholesterol-Glucose-Triglycerides)
Dissualon is a treatment for hypercholesterolemia, which combines the action of Atorvastatin and Ezetimibe. Atorvastatin, blocking the enzyme HMG-CoA Reductase, which is responsible for the synthesis of cholesterol in the body; while Ezetimibe inhibits the absorption of cholesterol at intestine level. Also causing a decrease in “bad cholesterol” or LDL-C and an increase in “good cholesterol” or HDL-C.
Dissualon is indicated along with a proper diet for the reduction of high levels of total cholesterol, LDL-C, triglycerides (TG) and Apo B (apolipoprotein B) in patients with familial and non-familial primary hypercholesterolaemia and Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia, together with other lipid lowering treatments.
