We understand by vertigo, a hallucination of movement, a perception of a movement that does not exist, being more frequently of rotation or rotation of our body or the environment that surrounds us. It derives from the Latin root vertere which means to turn. The main problem when identifying the symptom is the difficulty on the part of the patient to explain what sensation they perceive, which can be polymorphous of the type of instability, insecurity of walking, feeling of loss of control of their own body, laxity, dizziness, anguish … Of 480 cases studied in Vestibular Testing consultations at the Puerto Real University Hospital, 49.8% had a sense of spin; 23.5% linear feel; 12.5% rocking sensation; 9% did not know how to specify it; 3.8% suffered instability and 1.5% had no sensation of movement.

Above all, it should be clear that vertigo is not a disease, but a symptom that recognizes multiple etiologies.
